Composite Sleepers in Silesia!
As part of the modernization of the tram tracks in the Silesian agglomeration, the General Contractor of the project, ZUE S.A., implemented an innovative solution using composite turnout sleepers.
The composite turnout sleepers were installed in one of the turnouts as well as under compensating devices.

Composite track sleepers and turnout sleepers  are a solution that meets the needs of Infrastructure Managers, particularly in terms of environmental protection. They are resistant to weather conditions, especially moisture, salinity, and substances such as mineral oils.

The sleepers, manufactured by Pioonier, are made entirely from recycled plastic, with a patented production technology. After their service life, the sleepers and turnout bearers can be fully recycled and reused in the track.
