As part of the modernization of the tram line along Aleja Niepodległości in Częstochowa, Railway gft Sp. z o. o. delivered the Rheda City system. During the construction works on the bridge over the Stradomka River, it turned out to be necessary to design a solution that will allow not to interfere with the construction elements of bridge. A ballastless superstructure of the Rheda City rail surface was designed and built-in, which, compared to the height of the object with a ballast track, allows to reduce the height of the built-up track.
"The progress of construction works related to the reconstruction of the track on the bridge proceeded quite smoothly and quickly. Thanks to the lightweight elements of the system, giving the possibility of manually setting the sleeper to the designated place and the possibility of adjusting the rail vertically and horizontally, it was possible to shorten the construction time. Thanks to such advantages as the monolithic construction of the slab, low construction height, simple execution technique and no problems during assembly, the Rheda City system is worth recommending when rebuilding tram tracks. " – told us Mr. Paweł Zawadzki, Master of the Tram Infrastructure Section in the Tram Department of the Municipal Transport Company in Częstochowa Sp. z o. o.
